Melissa Freeborn - Treatment Coordinator

Melissa began her career in dentistry in 2003 as a Dental Hygienist. In 2018, she joined our team at Vicek Orthodontics to become our Treatment Coordinator. As the Treatment Coordinator, Melissa oversees the new patient experience and helps with financial arrangements. She also helps with the removal of braces. She loves watching the patients see their new smiles for the first time. Melissa enjoys working out, all types of sports, and is a huge fan of Tom Brady. Melissa is happily married to Nathaniel and they have four beautiful children: 3 girls and a boy. She lives in a house with two tarantulas and a turtle.

Shelly Miller - Clinic Supervisor

Shelly began her career in orthodontics in 1988. She is a Certified Orthodontic Assistant and has her coronal polishing license. Shelly is the one who keeps our clinic running smoothly and efficiently. She loves creating new smiles from start to finish and is the biggest Ohio State fan ever! Shelly has 2 grown children, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 2 dogs.

Tori Tyree - Clinical Assistant

Tori joined our team as a Clinical Assistant in February of 2022 and became a Certified Orthodontic Assistant in 2025. She is very passionate about creating a fun and comfortable environment for our patients and can often be found singing and dancing around the clinic. She also helps out in our lab and with finances. Tori is married and is a mother of 6 humans, 1 dog, 3 cats, a leopard gecko and a turtle. Tori's hobby is sitting on the bleachers and watching her children do their hobbies. She also enjoys reading, watching football (Go Cleveland!), and volunteering at her church.

Susie Dunn - Clinical Assistant

Susie has been a Clinical Assistant since 1974. She loves helping create beautiful smiles and visiting with the patients. She is married to Kurt and they have 2 children and 3 grandsons. Once Susie leaves Dr. Vicek's office, she goes home to tend to her horse stables, which is a full-time job in itself. Susie also enjoys attending sporting events, bicycling, and refinishing antique furniture.

Kristy Rettig - Laboratory Technician

Kristy entered the orthodontic world in 1979. Kristy runs the in-house lab at Vicek Orthodontics. She is responsible for making appliances, creating cool looking retainers and taking patient records. She occasionally helps in the clinic assisting Dr. Vicek. She is married and has three children and two grandsons. In her free time, Kristy enjoys trail riding her horse, walking on farm trails with her husband and two dogs, gardening and traveling to Virginia to visit her grandkids.

Dawn Wright-Scheduling Coordinator

Dawn joined our team in 2024. She loves getting to know our patients and really enjoys sending personalized letters. Dawn is married with 4 children and a dog named Floyd. When she's not behind the front desk, she can be found in a classroom as a substitute teacher.

Bryanne Counts-Clinical Assistant

Bryanne joined our team in October of 2023. She loves seeing how each patient's smile grows bigger and brighter throughout their journey with braces. Bryanne went to Owens Community College to get her certificate in dental assisting. She has a 4 year old chocolate lab named Jax and loves to take him to the park and play outside with him. She also enjoys going to sprint car races and golfing with her boyfriend, Braden and her friends every weekend during the summer.
